The Nanny Group

The Nanny Group is an initiative Manor Grange has recently started where children and their nannies are invited to Manor Grange Care Home for a monthly support group. The first meeting of the group started in September and will be held monthly.

The purpose of the group is part of several ideas we have to connect Manor Grange Care Home within the local community and to share the use of our fabulous facilities with others.

Family models are very diverse and often children may not have contact with the elderly, and there are some residents who do not have grandchildren so these types of groups offer both generations the chance to build relationships that they would not otherwise have had the opportunity to experience.

It is also beneficial to enable the local community to see the inside of a care home and the types of activities that we support. Many have commented on what a beautiful home we have, how lovely an atmosphere there is, and how a care home is “nothing like we thought it would be”, a view we are very proud of at Manor Grange Care Home, Edinburgh.

The residents commented on how much they enjoyed playing & chatting with the children as well as having a cuppa and natter with the nannies, and really look forward to the next group.
