This month, a group of residents at Manor Grange passed their First Aid & CPR training course at Manor Grange, proving that there is no age barrier to learning new skills. Upon completion, residents proudly displayed their certificates. Following the success of this training initiative, we will be putting together a list of in-house training courses that residents can choose from.

The training took place to show that at Manor Grange, we want our residents to feel as included as possible in everything we do, which is evident in our company's value of 'Inclusive'. Residents had fun and also enjoyed learning new skills as well as obtaining insight into what training we deliver to staff.

Involving our residents in tasks and initiatives can have numerous benefits for their well-being. It helps to promote a sense of purpose and meaning in their lives, which can lead to improved self-esteem and a greater sense of fulfilment. This is especially important for older people who may feel that they have lost their independence or are no longer contributing to society.

At our care home in Edinburgh, we encourage residents to participate in daily activities and initiatives that can help to combat feelings of isolation and loneliness and increase mood and engagement. It also provides opportunities for socialisation and helps to build a sense of community within the care home.

Residents are looking forward to doing more around the care home and local community, and we love to be able to provide them with new opportunities.
