We took part in Glad to Care Awareness Week at Manor Grange Care Home. Glad to Care Awareness Week is a week-long campaign that celebrates care workers.

The week serves as a reminder of the profound impact caregivers have on the lives of others, promoting their well-being, comfort, and independence. By recognising a carer's efforts and highlighting their importance, Glad to Care Week demonstrates gratitude and acknowledges the efforts of those working in care. It also encourages the provision of adequate support and resources for caregivers.

This year, Glad to Care Awareness Week ran from 12th-16th June. During the week there are a variety of activities and events designed to encourage people in care homes and other care facilities to get involved and to spread awareness.

To celebrate and recognise all the fantastic care which we provide to our residents at Manor Grange, not only from the care teams but also from all the other teams across all disciplines throughout the home, since everybody is part of the care provision in their own way.

At Manor Grange Care Home in Edinburgh, we held multiple events including coordinated staff dance routines, buffet breakfasts for staff, water fight/slide, live entertainment, tasty treats banquet, bouncy castle, hula hoop challenges, cocktails & mocktails afternoon, and generally enjoying fun in the sun with the residents.

All members of staff received a small gift from the management to say thanks and to show our gratitude.

The events that we held were to benefit our staff by raising staff morale and increasing a feel-good factor within the home. There has also been a lot of laughter and conversation about the various events and activities that we had during the week. Staff have been able to let their hair down, to relax, and spend quality time with each other.

Safe to say that Glad to Care Week was a success! We look forward to doing it all again next year.
