Focus Week on Staff Wellbeing

staff-enjoying-wellbeing-week

This month at Manor Grange, we promoted staff well-being where we hosted a weeklong programme of events & activities for staff to enjoy.  Each day followed a different theme such as Food Day, Fun Day, Be Creative Day, Pamper Day, and Get Active Day.

Staff enjoyed having back massages, foot spas, face masks, ice cream van visit, breakfast buffets, party games, and a whole host of other activities in a very packed week. It was so lovely to hear so many positive comments from staff on how much they had enjoyed many of the activities.

This campaign is to focus and promote positive staff wellbeing. Residents joined in many activities with the staff, especially the bouncy castle which was a new experience for many residents, they all commented on how much fun it was along with lots of laughter.

Staff also shared positive comments about each other, and this had a positive effect of seeing people read lovely comments about themselves. These kinds of activities and focus weeks create strong team-building which has a positive impact on staff and their self-confidence.

There were many highlights of the week, but it was agreed that the Bouncy Castle was great fun. There is something about a bouncy castle that reverts us all back to childhood and even the residents enjoyed being bounced on it by staff. This one though was a “Deluxe” model with a slide on it and what fun, laughter and screams could be heard from the daring antics of the staff to see how many people could get down in one go, it really was an absolute blast.

We look forward to organising more exciting days for staff at our care home in Edinburgh as we believe it's important to continue to support staff well-being so that they can feel motivated and appreciated.
