At Manor Grange Care Home, our team of professionals are dedicated to our residents by delivering high levels of care and by providing person-centred care. Our care home believes in forming strong relationships by treating each other with the utmost respect and we work hard to make sure everyone within our home feels valued and fulfilled.

    Gordon was brought up in Glenrothes and spent the first part of his career running Leisure Clubs and Sport Centres throughout Scotland. In 2013, he started his first role in the healthcare sector, as home manager of Colinton Care home in Edinburgh, where he remained dedicated for 10 years. Gordon has now joined us here at Manor Grange Care Home as our home manager, he is enthusiastic about the wellbeing of his residents and his team. Gordon looks to create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

    Louise chose a career in Nursing care for the elderly as she is very passionate about advocating for those living with Dementia. Louise is very new to Manor Grange but hopes to bring her skills and knowledge to the team. In her previous post as Charge Nurse, she won Nurse of the Year for the whole of the UK in 2016. Louise has extensive knowledge in Dementia and thrives to make everyday a good day for our residents here at Manor Grange, ensuring that their choices are respected at all times.

    Alice joined the team at Manor Grange in Oct 2022. Alice has many years experience working in hospital settings as well as Care of the Elederly settings and with the City of Edinburgh Councils Reablement team. Alice says she loves working in Care of the elderly as she is able to make a positive impact supporting them to have the best quality of life which they deserve.

    Unit Manager Sunny Houghton joins the Manor Grange Team Unit Manager for Mull/Iona. Sunny was passionate to start a career in care after caring for her Nan. She has now worked in care for fourteen years and has progressed from starting as a Care Assistant to team leader and then going to Napier University to study for her Degree in Nursing.

    Carolanne trained as a General Nurse but found her passion was in caring for the elderly, focusing on Dementia care. She has done a lot of research in this area in the last 20 years and has worked in the Scottish Borders as well as Edinburgh. Carolanne enjoys being part of the team here at Manor Grange and enjoys her role as Charge Nurse immensely. Carolanne feels that Manor Grange is a great team who give the highest level of care to each of our residents.

    Duncan is our Training & Bereavement Coordinator who has been part of the team for six years. Duncan began as a Care Assistant and has progressed his Career at Manor Grange through to Senior Care Assistant before then joining the Admin Team in his current Role. Duncan has experience in working with all care sectors such as Childcare, community care of the Elderly and Residential Care of the Elderly.

  • Maureen Cameron

    Maureen has extensive experience working in both Domiciliary Care and Residential Care as a Senior Care Assistant as well as an Activity Coordinator and holds an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care for Adults. Her role, which she adores, is very diverse and as well as planning daily activities, she also organises many special events throughout the year and is always “cooking up” some new ideas. Maureen enjoys building strong relationships with both residents and relatives. She leads a small but growing team of Activities staff who are all dedicated to bringing joy to our residents. Maureen can honestly say that Manor Grange is the best place she has worked in, and loves that we are a big family and this is “Home” and not “A Home”. Maureen recently won an award at the Scottish Care Awards 2023 for “Best Ancillary and Support Staff”.

    Liz has worked in the care sector for 20 years, starting off as a Carer and then moved on to Housekeeping. While working at Manor Grange, Liz was promoted to Head Housekeeper and her role consists of leading the housekeeping team and ensuring that high standards of cleanliness are maintained within both cleaning and laundry. Liz also liaises with residents and relatives to help identify and resolve any problems which may occur.

    Catriona is our hairdresser at Manor Grange who has been part of the team from the very beginning. Catriona loves to transform residents’ hair and get them looking and feeling their best. Residents enjoy having a natter with Catriona while they get pampered at the hair salon.

    Maria previously joined the Manor Grange Team as a Care assistant and then progressed to Senior Care Assistant. She is passionate about the care of Residents and is excited with her new role as a Host which enables her to focus on providing continuity in the dining room experience.

  • Walter Carnie

    Walter has maintained gardens in the Murrayfield and surrounding area for in excess of 35 years, working with Capability Scotland and the Tor Nursing home prior to being at Manor Grange. Walter enjoys being outdoors and meeting new people. Walter loves chatting with the Residents hearing their life stories and them sharing their memories with him. It brings a smile to his face to see Residents, visitors and staff out enjoying our grounds.

    Walter feels a great sense of pride in seeing the grounds as they are now which have been cultivated by the care and attention that he has given them in the 6 years since Manor Grange first opened its doors.
